  I was a long standing patient of Dr. Wilson's. He is extremely competent, above average by any measure. Unfortunately, he charges 3x - 4x what other Scottsdale area dentists charge, and has increasingly become profit- rather than patient-driven, leaning toward questionable diagnoses for the purpose of selling high-priced (high profit) implements. Need a cleaning? Be prepared to shell out $280+, rather than the typical $75-$90. When he diagnosed and prescribed a regimen to address bone loss associated with prior implant placement, I was all in. Incredibly, he refused to treat unless I also signed off on another very expensive regimen to address an unrelated and far less serious issue. I am now seeing another dentist, who, upon requesting recent dental x-rays from Dr. Wilson's office, was informed that they would only comply upon receipt of a $50 stipend. This is apparently not entirely unheard of, but characterized as "highly unusual" by my new dental office. Unless you literally have money to burn, you may want to look elsewhere for quality dental work.
